About God
We believe in one true, holy God, who eternally exist in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17) In the beginning God created out of nothing the world and all things within it, thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom, and goodness. (Genesis Chapter 1) By His sovereign power, He continues to sustain His creation. (John 1:1-4, Acts 17:24-28)
About Jesus
Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born by miraculous conception and through virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-23). He lived a perfect, sinless life, in obedience to God, His Father, and voluntarily atoned for the sins of all men by dying on the cross as their substitute. He arose from the dead in bodily form on the third day and ascended into heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:1-7) He now sits at the Father's right hand, where He, the only Mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. (Ephesians 1:19-23). He shall come to earth again, and personally and visibly, gather His church to Himself, where they shall reign forever with Him. This will be to fulfill God's eternal plan. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)
About the Holy
Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter promised by Christ and sent to us by God the Father (John 16:7-11). He enlightens the minds of sinners, awakens in them a recognition of their need for a Savior, and at the point of salvation, regenerates them (Acts 2: 39-40). He permanently lives inside every believer to become the source of assurance, strength, and wisdom. He gives to every believer, as God so chooses, gifts (special talents and abilities) for the building-up of the Body (1 Corinthians Chapter 12; Ephesians 4: 11-13; Romans 12:4-15) The Holy Spirit guides believers into understanding and applying the Scripture, and He helps the believer lead a Christ-like life.
About the Bible
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Scripture in its entirety originated with God and that it was given through the Holy Spirit to chosen men (Romans 10:14-17). We hold that the Scriptures are infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible is the unique, full, and final authority in all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
About Salvation
Man was originally created to have fellowship with God. Through Adam, sin entered the world (Man disobeyed God) and the penalty for that, and all subsequent, sin is death. Everyone sins and needs a redeemer (Romans 1:18-2:16). The salvation of mankind is entirely a work of God's free grace - the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. No one can earn or work his way into Heaven (Ephesians 2:4-10). It is only through the saving work (a perfect life, His death, burial, and resurrection) of Jesus Christ that we have hope of eternal salvation. When we personally accept this work through faith and obedience, God saves us (Romans 1:5; 16:26). The obedience of Faith requires - Belief in what Christ has done for us, Repentance (a change in life actions and a sincere turning around), Confession that Christ is Lord and Savior, and Baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:37-38; 8:5-40; Chapter 10; 16:12-34; 18:24-19:7, 22:11-16). Those who do not believe or reject the saving work of Jesus Christ will be condemned to eternal damnation. (Mark 16:15-16)
About the Church
God adds to His Body (Acts 2:47), the one Church universal (Ephesians 2:19-22; 4:4-7), all who accept and obey Jesus as Lord and Savior. Scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to prayer, teaching of the Word, fellowship, and communion - All this we practice weekly. (Acts 2:41-42; 20:7). We are a local body (part) of the One Church. We have no national organizational headquarters or authority above our church. The head of our local congregation is Christ (Ephesians 5: 23). Organizationally we have elders (i.e., pastors, shepherds, overseers) that oversee and shepherd the work here at C4. We also have ministry leaders/deacons who serve in different ministries. (i.e, building & grounds, music, youth, etc.) 1 Timothy 3:1-13
